We met James when he was the best man at Christopher and Aletta's wedding in South Africa. He owns his own photography studio in Derby, England so when he asked us to photograph his and Kirsty's wedding we jumped at the opportunity. They were married at St Peter's church in Belper (built to commemorate Wellingtons' victory at Waterloo in 1815) and had their reception at Blackbrook House an amazing venue just outside of Belper. There's a few traditions in the UK which is different, for example did you know the bride comes down the aisle first not the bridesmaids? The confetti thing is also a lot of fun and it never ceases to make me chortle that there is always someone who seems to be determined to fling it as hard as they possibly can... anyway I digress, it was a great day, weather behaved which as it was England wasn't a given the bride and groom were happy to be married, their parents too, friends made jolly and the band, Benny Lee and the Whistle Stop 5 was incredible. Here's some of our favourite images from the day. You can see more by clicking here or on the image above.
