On The Bay Magazine and Isis Photography
Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 12:07PM As many of you know we work freelance for On The Bay which is a magazine dedicated to telling the story of people that live in Georgian Bay as well as covering issues that concern them. Unbelievably we've been shooting for the magazine for almost 5 years. It has meant we covered interesting stories and met lots of fascinating people we otherwise wouldn't have. Over the years we've got some great photographs and so in way of celebrating 5 years with On The Bay we thought it would be an idea to share some of our favourite images here.
This first image was from the last issue published a couple of weeks ago. The story was called 'Adding Life to days' and was a look at how we deal with the last of our days. You can read the whole story here. I have to admit that I was really nervous about shooting the story but in the end turned out to be an amazing experience. The lady in the photograph I have chosen to open our series with, is fighting cancer and living each day as it comes. She was brave and gracious enough to allow us to photograph her. You can see more photographs in the article but this one below really caught my eye. The serenity of her expression is what made it a stand out for me. The acceptance of what is, of things to come as well as the strength to deal with whatever that me be, is, for me, portrayed in this image.
