Collingwood's CIBC Run for the Cure
Monday, October 4, 2010 at 4:30PM We got involved in the run because one of the organizers, Jen Nichol had asked if we would provide coverage for the event here in Collingwood. This was our third year sponsoring the event. It was especially poignant this year because of the news that a friends wife had been diagnosed with breast cancer (at 36) and would have to have a mastectomy to remove both breasts. It's a cruel and horrid disease but with the money raised from events like this one the fight to beat it moves forward each year and over the last few years significant progress has been made in both diagnosis and treatment. Collingwood has been one of the top fund raisers for this event and hopefully will be again this. On Sunday just under 1000 people turned out to run and at time of writing they had raised over $178,000! Congratulations to everyone who took part. Click here to see the slideshow we put together.

We have to give a big shout to Dimitri Sarantis, a friend from Toronto and a great photographer who stepped in to shoot the event at the last minute when we found ourselves double booked! Click on the image to see the slideshow we put together from the images Dimitri shot.
