An Isis Encore Session with Brandi & Doon

Burke and Brandi were married back in May 2008.  Burke Jr, also known as Doon as well as several other names is Christa’s cousin.  We were at their wedding as guests although as it happened we did shoot some photographs for them as thier photographer had to leave rather suddenly. (For those of you considering using a part time photographer to shoot your wedding you may want to talk to Brandi and Doon about their experience)  If you follow our blog you may remember seeing their photographs, the ones with the warplanes and silhouettes.  They were married at the Canadian Warplane Heritage museum in Hamilton, which provided an amazing backdrop for some interesting photographs. Doon and Brandi loved what we did and although it has taken a while to persuade Brandi that it would be OK, finally on the long weekend at the beginning of September they got back into their wedding togs and took part in one of our ‘encore’ sessions.

The ‘encore’ session is what we decided to call Trash The Dress as TTD is not really what happens and seemingly it puts lots of people off.  The dress is fine after a good dry cleaning as both our brides who have done this with us will attest.

So with the help of Doon’s parents, who kindly provided transport on their motor launch, we set off to find some locations  where we could photograph Brandi and Doon.  It was a beautiful day with great blue skies and warm temperatures which made getting in the water not quite the traumatic experience it could have been later in the year.  Brandi was brilliant, basically up to anything we requested, which included lying in a Lilly Pond that was mostly rather foul smelling mud and going under the water in all in the name of a good photograph.  We had a lot of fun and we’re happy to share some of our favourite photographs with you here.  Thanks to Brandi and Doon (and of course Burke and Mary) it was a great day we had a lot of fun.
